Enable order verification
In this step you’ll enable WhatsApp Order Confirmation. As soon as a customer completes checkout, Cartsaver sends them a confirmation message on the channel you chose in the previous step. The order is held in Unverified state until the customer taps to confirm.
1. Open the verification settings
Section titled “1. Open the verification settings”- From Shopify admin, go to Apps → Cartsaver.
- In the Cartsaver side menu, click Settings.
- Open the OTP Verification tab.
2. Pick WhatsApp Order Confirmation
Section titled “2. Pick WhatsApp Order Confirmation”The OTP Verification panel offers two modes. Pick the right-hand option, WhatsApp Order Confirmation, so customers confirm after completing checkout.
3. Flip the main switch
Section titled “3. Flip the main switch”- Turn the master toggle on.
- A group of options appears:
- Default channel — should match what you picked in the previous step.
- Maximum attempts — leave at 3 for most stores.
- Code expiry — default is 10 minutes; suitable for most cases. (SMS only — on WhatsApp the customer taps Confirm, so there’s no code to expire.)
- Pending Order Action — leave on Mark as High Risk for your first week. You can switch to Auto Cancel later, once you’ve reviewed a handful of unverified orders.
4. Customize the message
Section titled “4. Customize the message”Under Message template, pick a ready-made template or edit it to match your brand voice. Keep the merge fields exactly as they are — Cartsaver fills them in automatically.
SMS and WhatsApp use different templates because they’re different UX flows:
SMS template (with code)
Section titled “SMS template (with code)”The customer receives a numeric verification code by text and types it into the thank-you page after checkout.
Hi {name}, your verification code for order {order number} from {store} is {code}. Valid for 10 minutes.
WhatsApp template (tap-to-confirm)
Section titled “WhatsApp template (tap-to-confirm)”The customer receives a WhatsApp message with the order summary and Confirm / Cancel buttons. They tap Confirm — no code is typed anywhere.
{store} Hi {name}, Order #{order number} requires confirmation before shipping. Delivery Address: {delivery address} Number of Items: {item count} Order Total: {order total} Please review your Order Details, then tap Confirm or Cancel.
5. Save your settings
Section titled “5. Save your settings”Click Save at the top of the screen. You’ll see a green “Saved successfully” banner.
What’s next
Section titled “What’s next”Time to put it all together: Place a test order.
Verify it works
Section titled “Verify it works”- In Settings → OTP Verification, the right-hand WhatsApp Order Confirmation card is the highlighted option and the master toggle shows Enabled (green).
- The selected channel name appears next to “Default channel”.
- No red error states appear under “Message template”.
