The app doesn't show on my theme
In more than 99% of cases Cartsaver works without theme changes. When it doesn’t, the cause is usually another app modifying the same area, or a theme that hasn’t been migrated to Online Store 2.0.
1. Check that App Embeds is enabled
Section titled “1. Check that App Embeds is enabled”- From Shopify admin: Online Store → Themes → Customize.
- In the top dropdown, pick App embeds.
- Find Cartsaver in the list and confirm the toggle is on (green).
- Click Save.
2. Confirm your theme version
Section titled “2. Confirm your theme version”- Cartsaver supports Online Store 2.0 themes only (Dawn, Refresh, Sense, and any theme released after 2021).
- Legacy Vintage themes won’t show the blocks.
Fix: upgrade to an Online Store 2.0 theme. Shopify’s free Dawn theme is always available as a preview.
3. Look for conflicting apps
Section titled “3. Look for conflicting apps”These app categories often modify the thank-you page and can clash with Cartsaver:
- Post-purchase upsell apps.
- Loyalty / rewards apps that show a badge on the thank-you page.
- Review-collection apps that prompt on the thank-you page.
Fix: open each of those apps’ settings and look for a “Show on thank-you page” option. Re-order if needed so Cartsaver shows first.
4. Check Checkout Extensibility
Section titled “4. Check Checkout Extensibility”- Cartsaver uses Shopify’s Checkout UI Extensions (the modern standard).
- Stores still on Legacy Checkout (pre-2024 and never updated) won’t see the block on the thank-you page.
Fix: enable Checkout Extensibility from your Shopify settings. Shopify auto-upgrades the checkout — no code changes needed.
5. Browser cache
Section titled “5. Browser cache”After enabling the app, your browser may cache an older version of the theme.
Fix:
- Close and reopen the browser.
- Try in an Incognito / Private window.
6. Custom CSS hiding the block
Section titled “6. Custom CSS hiding the block”In rare cases, custom CSS on the theme hides the block.
Fix: open Online Store → Themes → Customize → Theme settings →
Custom CSS and look for any rules referencing .cartsaver,
#cartsaver, or display: none applied to general elements.
7. SuperShop or custom themes
Section titled “7. SuperShop or custom themes”If you use a heavily customised theme, the block may need a non-standard placement. Cartsaver still uses standard Theme App Extensions — the theme developer can confirm compatibility.
8. Still not working?
Section titled “8. Still not working?”Head to Contact support with:
- Your theme name and version.
- A list of other apps installed.
- A screenshot of Customize → App embeds.
