Billing & message quota
This page answers the most common questions about Cartsaver’s message quota, billing model, and what happens when you reach the cap.
What counts toward your message quota?
Section titled “What counts toward your message quota?”Every outbound message from Cartsaver to a customer counts as one:
- Verification code (Fast Checkout or WhatsApp Order Confirmation) = 1.
- Order confirmation = 1.
- Shipping notification = 1.
- Delivery notification = 1.
- Abandoned cart reminder = 1.
- Cross-sell message = 1.
- Review request = 1.
Follow-up messages in the same WhatsApp thread (for example, “Thanks for your review”) also count.
What doesn’t count?
Section titled “What doesn’t count?”- Send attempts that fail due to an invalid phone number before the message leaves Cartsaver.
- Retries triggered by a temporary provider error (only the successful send counts).
- Technical messages between Cartsaver and Shopify (never reach a customer).
What’s my current plan limit?
Section titled “What’s my current plan limit?”See Pricing & Plans for the full table. Your live limit is always visible at the top of Cartsaver → Dashboard.
What happens at the limit?
Section titled “What happens at the limit?”- Outbound messages stop automatically when you hit the cap.
- The Fast Checkout block and thank-you page block still appear but won’t send a new verification code until the cap resets or you upgrade.
- A red banner appears at the top of the Cartsaver dashboard.
Upgrading
Section titled “Upgrading”- In Cartsaver → Pricing, click Upgrade next to the target plan.
- Shopify opens a billing approval window.
- The difference is pro-rated against what’s left in your current billing cycle.
Downgrading
Section titled “Downgrading”- From the same screen, click Downgrade to a lower plan.
- The downgrade takes effect at the start of the next billing cycle.
- Your settings and logs are preserved across plan changes.
Billing cycle
Section titled “Billing cycle”- Charged every 30 days from the date you first activated the plan.
- The next renewal date is shown in Dashboard → Plan info.
- Currency: USD.
Auto-renewal
Section titled “Auto-renewal”- Enabled by default on all paid plans.
- Cancel anytime — the current paid period continues until its end, then the account drops back to the Free plan.
Refunds
Section titled “Refunds”Refund policy follows Shopify’s standard app billing rules. If something seems off about a charge, reach out via Contact support within 7 days of the invoice.
